Dear friends, supporters, and partners,

As the newly-inducted President of the University of Haifa, I share these words with great concern for the safety of Israel. The North of our country, home to our precious University, is under intense rocket attack. Life across the region is disrupted. We are living in uncertainty, as children and families run for shelters—not knowing what awaits them from moment to moment.

As you are an integral part of the University’s family, I want to share a few updates with you related to the current situation:

The University is adhering closely to the Home Front Command orders to limit large gatherings and stay close to shelters.

We will continue to support our students who are fighting on the frontlines for the safety and future of Israel. Our aim is to offer generous scholarships to as many of these soldiers as possible.

Our faculty will continue to prepare for the start of the school year and the thousands of students that depend upon us for their higher education and social mobility.

I will keep you up to date as the situation unfolds.

With great appreciation for your unwavering support,

Gur Alroey
President, University of Haifa
